Chief Marketing Officer (promotion potential for COO role)

We seek an experienced and innovative Chief Marketing Officer (promotion potential for COO role)

with an analytical, strategic, and operational mindset to lead a 25-person team responsible for

marketing investment research to institutional and retail markets using a variety of digital and non-


Our mid-sized company is already very successful and financially strong. We would like to find a

leader who can deliver the next stage of growth. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

Coordinate and manage a budget to meet Revenue and expense goals, with details re: 

Formulate and implement major marketing initiatives including objectives, timelines and

budgets which generate revenue to meet or exceed budget goals 

Create and produce quarterly sales plans 

Develop new strategies, implement those that are approved by the CEO and deliver

aggressive sales growth 

Motivate and help train a best in class staff of sales professionals 

Must be well versed at communicating in writing on a regular basis 

Hire, train, counsel and motivate staff as appropriate 

Required Qualifications: 

Ten years or more business experience managing the Marketing function of a mid or large

sized organization with an established sales department responsible for telecom, media,

financial services, publishing, retail, institutional. 

Must have knowledge of investment /stocks (work, education) 

Bachelor's or higher Degree in Marketing, Management, Finance, Statistics, Economics. CFA

and/or MBA preferred 

5+ years managing a successful team of telemarketers, wholesalers, outside marketing

agencies, list rental services, assisting sales staff when closing large contracts, supervising

new and existing staff and developing digital marketing strategies 

5+ years direct experience doing A/B testing and analyzing campaign results to recommend

how to improve revenue and profitability 

Experience in working at multiple in-house levels to drive collaboration and teamwork while

building strong, positive team member relations. • 

Experience hiring, training, counseling and motivating staff as appropriate 

 Experience assigning marketing territories and key accounts to department personnel 

Understanding of marketing channels including: email marketing. Search Engine

Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), social media marketing, direct mail,

print advertising, etc. • 

Expertise with web page design, tag management, web portals, etc. 

Experience finding and managing a multitude of vendors 

Ability to present a compelling case when suggesting ideas and development opportunities

to senior leaders and customers 

Must be a problem solver 

Must have strong analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use data and analytics to

understand and improve performance • 

Experience with managing staff using Salesforce Marketing Cloud 

Must have a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook 

Proven track record developing and maintaining long term, customer relationships • 

Experience attending and marketing effectively at industry trade shows 

Must lead and motivate team to deliver top customer service • 

Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

Experience leading weekly sales meetings, assigning and following up on accounts with

sales staff 

Must be able to analyze competing product offerings,

Must be able to assess growth opportunities globally 

Must be willing to contact customers/end users on a regular basis to present new concepts

and products as well as to gather market and competitor information
