The Construction Site Superintendent / Junior Superintendent must continually work to ensure adequate staffing of the work force and sufficient supply of materials so as to not interfere with the progress of any one component. Experience with interior renovation and rehab projects in the New York area required.

Client Details

A Growing New York Real Estate Development & Construction firm is seeking an experienced Construction Site Superintendent / Junior Superintendent to work there team. Experience with multi-family residential gut rehab, moderate rehab and new construction required. Ability to travel to Astoria and White Plains required.


The Construction Site Superintendent / Junior Superintendent will:

  • Generate, secure or otherwise confirm all information needed to create, monitor and modify the progress schedule on a continuing basis.
  • Develop progress schedule with the Project Manager.
  • Participate in scope reviews of the various bid packages.
  • Identify field-construction and work-sequence considerations when finalizing bid package purchases.
  • Determine whether subcontractors are providing sufficient work force and hours of work to achieve performance commitments.
  • Monitor performance of the company's Purchasing and Project Engineering functions to ensure that all subcontracts, material purchases, submittals, deliveries, clarifications and changes are processed in time to guarantee job site arrival by, or before, the times needed.
  • Direct any company field staff.
  • Prepare daily reports, job diaries, narratives, and all other regular and special documentation as determined by the company and project needs.


The Construction Site Superintendent / Junior Superintendent will:

  • 5+ years related experience.
  • Must have NYC DOB Site Superintendent Certification preferred
  • Must have proper and update OSHA 30 certification
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) written and verbal skills preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate and control the quality of performance of trade contractors.
  • Strong communications, presentation and personnel management skills in order to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors and/or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and understand plans.
  • Ability to do take-offs and order proper materials.
  • 5+ years carpentry experience
  • Computer literate
  • Supervisory experience at the level of Site Super.
  • Understanding of Governmental agencies such as DOB, DOT and OSHA requirements.
  • Understanding of contracts, scope of work and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to draft up kitchen layouts and field conditions.
