POSITION: Head of Procurement - Food-Beverage
We are seeking a skilled Procurement leader to head procurement for a large Food & Beverage importer and distributor. The Head of Procurement will be responsible for managing the global sourcing of food and raw materials required for production, and will also be in charge of sourcing global transportation solutions to import raw materials as well as export products to worldwide markets. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this role will be responsible for formulating a strategic plan to improve supplier management and establish metrics to measure vendor performance, product quality, and delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop an annual plan to develop and implement a sourcing strategy within contract services to deliver best value, price, and compliance.
- Establish vendor contract and agreement requirements
- Develop timelines, secure quotations, process purchasing orders, and resolve discrepancies.
- Create bid packages, perform bid analysis, and provide recommendations to Management and Project Team.
- Initiate and promote corporate global contracts.
- Utilize best practices and cost analysis to ensure best value and pricing.
- Direct individual department activities to ensure successful execution of strategic procurement plan for capital equipment.
- Put process in place to reduce expenditures and track performance.
- Put processes in place to source identification, control costs, negotiations, supply, quality, delivery/service, as well as continuous improvement and quality reviews/audits .
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree coupled with 10 years of purchasing/supplier management experience.
- Ideal candidate will have strong communication and facilitation skills and the ability to interface with all management levels.
- Experience in a Food/Beverage manufacturing environment
- Experience in Retail would be a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience creating and managing purchasing contracts
- Must have proven experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing.
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work well under deadlines would be essential for this role.
