Our client in Newark is looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic. This position would require the individual to have knowledge in electrical systems, diagnosing system failures which may include motors, motor starters, hydraulic pumps, motors and power packs, as well as all aspects of pneumatics. Some of the work involved includes rebuilding the recycling equipment and changing knives and cutters on the shredders and granulators on a scheduled basis.
The ability to perform Oxy/Acet or Oxy/Propylene & plasma cutting as well as welding using stick(ARC) and MIG are an absolute necessity. In addition the ability to read electrical schematics and assembly drawings for the manufacture of the equipment is a must. Some machine shop experience is required to the level of but not limited to the manufacturing of parts to replaced worn and damaged components. This may include turning down shafts and cutting keyways, forming bushings, as well as laying out material for drilling and tapping steel parts.
A majority of the work would involve troubleshooting and problem solving when the equipment is malfunctioning in order to keep the assembly lines moving and reducing down time. At times this job involves some physically demanding work which requires the applicant be able to lift heavy material and work in tight places.
Experience in PLC is preferred. Salary range $20-28hr. lots of overtime available!.
