Litigation Support (Attorney or Paralegal)

Overview: Our client is looking for a Litigation Support professional to support the Litigation Team.

Compensation: Commensurate with Experience

Experience: 2-5 years, Litigation and Litigation Management Experience

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with litigation attorneys to appropriately triage incoming matters, including service of process notices.
  • Assist litigation attorneys with initial risk assessment of claims, and prepare and issue legal holds.
  • Open, manage, and close new matters in e-billing and matter management system (Tymetrix).
  • As requested, preparing, issuing, circulating and tracking outside counsel retention agreements
  • Preparing case status updates and updating case status in matter management system throughout life of matter; ensuring all key documents (pleadings, motions, etc.) are loaded into matter management system.
  • Assisting in and supporting all discovery activities, including identification of information sources within the business, acting as liaison between outside counsel and internal resources to obtain necessary documents/information, facilitating and performing document collection activities
  • Facilitating settlement processing including ensuring reserves are tracked in matter management system, as well as facilitating communication and coordination with finance as needed.
  • Report, track, and update claims to risk management.
  • Manage other litigation as assigned
  • Manage small claims litigation against the Company, including appearing as necessary on behalf of the Company in small claims courts in the NYC metropolitan area.
  • Manage responses to routine third party subpoenas, requests from law enforcement, and other requests for information from the Company.
  • Assist litigation attorneys in preparing quarterly and annual litigation reports to executive management, internal and external auditors, and risk management.
  • Work collaboratively with Legal Operations to identify or build better tools and processes for management and reporting of litigation.
  • As needed, provide support to Chief Regulatory Counsel and Managing Counsel for Litigation and Cybersecurity, on cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection issues including monitoring regulatory requirements, breach notification requirements, law enforcement advisories, and industry standards.
  • As needed, provide administrative support to litigation and Legal Operations functions, including organizing and managing meetings, drafting and sending correspondence, preparing and/or editing reports and presentations, working as needed with legal vendors.

Qualifications Include:

  • 2-5 years experience, Litigation and Litigation Management;
  • Experience with cybersecurity, privacy and data protection is a plus;
  • Experience with litigation management tool is a plus;
  • AmLaw 100 law firm experience preferred; and
  • Excellent organization and collaboration skills.
