The Engagement Manager will drive the strategy, education, and execution of our interoperability, growth, and affordability objectives for UnitedHealthcare Physicians. This position will be responsible for educating UnitedHealthcare providers on the tools they can use to serve our members more effectively, and partner with them on opportunities to improve managing patient care.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Primary coordination lead for engagement management initiatives including work with external providers on appropriate use of the network, adoption of point of care enablement technology, self-service adoption, affordability targets and overall education
  • Provide day-to-day management of engagement activities, including project management, reporting, coaching, implementation, problem resolution with defined service partners and other activities to assist in the facilitation of a successful relationship with assigned providers / book of business
  • In partnership with UHC Interoperability subject matter expert, operate as provider adoption leader for all interoperability initiatives (i.e. including UHC Insights, PreCheck MyScript and Point of Care Assist Solutions) 
  • Interface with key individuals from provider practices to drive understanding of the provider practice data, act as subject matter expert and support needed practice workflow changes  
  • Ensure practice data is shared at specified intervals so providers understand how they are performing on a timely basis, and can improve their performance to set benchmarks
  • Presents practice data and information at external meetings to ensure tools maximize value and collaborative efforts are completed
  • Understand and guide providers to appropriate resources to troubleshoot questions and other business concerns
  • Accurately and effectively communicate to status of Point of Care Solutions initiatives to internal UHG business partners 
  • Appropriately prioritize and escalate issues to contract leadership in support of ongoing relationship management
  • Recommend data / report enhancements based on HPP practice clinical team feedback
  • Engagement of non-HPP provider groups to support performance journey to HPP status
  • Log all provider interactions and follow up on open issues to ensure proper documentation of current and future actions are tracked
  • Create provider feedback loop on improved satisfaction opportunities with interoperability tools
  • Meet individual affordability and engagement performance metrics set by National UnitedHealthcare Networks Team
  • Ongoing Network Responsibilities: 
          - All Self-Service Adoption Efforts: Link, Smart Edits, DPOC & additional technology as it becomes available
          - New and ongoing Policy Changes (i.e. affordability initiatives)
          - Other outreach efforts as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 3+ years of experience in health plans or provider practice experience
  • 3+ years of customer service skills and/or client management experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint), SharePoint, and customer management software
  • 25% travel with ability to go up to 50% within a market / state / region to meet face to face with provider organizations
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of project management expertise
  • 1+ years of related experience in sales (non-retail)
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with contract reimbursement methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under time constraints 
  • Work in sales, service or coaching efforts with providers / customers
  • Solid analytical, critical reasoning and organizational skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
