Job Purpose:

The person in this role will be responsible for driving business development across healthcare syndicated. This will be achieved in a variety of ways.

  • Helping to expand business with existing clients by working with the heads of each TM portfolio to understand each client 's needs and introduce them to appropriate offers
  • Develop and work a list of new client targets in pharma, biotech, devices, government, clinical and financial markets '" by demonstrating how our offerings can be used to answer their business questions.
  • Create new syndicated offers by listening to client 's unmet needs and determining which new solutions will be relevant in the market
  • Support the TM portfolio teams on reaching their budget targets through enhanced business development and marketing/PR approaches
  • Ensure profitability and long-term viability of Company syndicated solutions
  • Review existing and new offers to make sure that they will continue to be competitive in the market
  • Learn as much as possible about competitive offers so that we can ensure development of any new offer will have advantages over what is currently existing
  • Ensure that new offers will have at least 3 clients to ensure appropriate levels of profit
  • Look for creative approaches in methodology when establishing new studies -taking into account restrictions and costs of interviewing. Be well versed with passive methodologies.
  • Work effectively across custom, syndicated and advisory teams and with the Key Account contacts both overall for Healthcare and within Syndicated to drive business across Company Healthcare
  • To work effectively with the Centres of Expertise, both therapeutic and other, to drive growth in Company Healthcare
  • Become a thought leader in a key area which is essential for the growth of syndicated '" this could include a specific therapy area, approach to research, healthcare sector, etc.

Essential Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Identify key opportunities
  • Create new opportunities
  • Action on these opportunities
  • Drive the targeting of clients at all levels and use existing relationships / resources most effectively
  • Ensure appropriate pricing and positioning of our studies by region/client type
  • Work closely with the business heads to ensure we are delivering on what we promised
  • Liaise with colleagues from other teams to bring in the best team for all initiatives

New Product Development

  • Creating relevant products in light of changing market dynamics
  • Listening and translating clients needs into opportunities for Company in terms of offerings

Working on special projects

  • Ability to add value into different initiatives as needed in a large global business with a variety of offerings

Measures of Performance

  • Growing syndication / profitability of the TMs
  • Strong relationship with existing clients
  • New client relationships developed
  • Strong collaboration across teams
  • Execution and ownership of special projects ( ie -linkage of promotional and prescribing research)


  • At least 10 years of relevant healthcare experience
  • Strong business development and client management skills
  • Ability to think innovatively to create new offerings
  • Ability to translate clients ' business needs into effective solutions
  • Strong knowledge of Market Research Approaches '" including quant, qual, syndicated, passive
  • Ability to work with global teams and adapt offerings for different local nuances
  • Strong knowledge of specific therapy areas a plus (autoimmune, Oncology)
  • Knowledge and experience with promotional research approaches
  • Overall expert understanding of healthcare market from clinical development through commercialization and lifecycle management
